Corporate social responsibility

Building for the communities our work runs through.

Since 2018 we have earmarked 2% of our profits for the welfare of communities: rural education and welfare, temple restoration across Maharashtra, and local procurement that brings employment to the youth of the regions we build in.

[01] Education

Placements, schools and awareness.

On the SH-317 works in Yavatmal, the site team offered work placements to local students and ran awareness campaigns promoting education. Across our sites, the same pattern repeats: engineering students see a live project, schools near the works get support, and the young people of the district get a first look at the industry that is building their road.

[02] Heritage and community

Restoring what a village gathers around.

A temple is often the centre of village life along our alignments. RKC has funded and carried out the restoration of local temples across Maharashtra, from Vidarbha to the Palkhi routes, as part of its commitment to leave each place better than it found it.

[03] Livelihoods

Spend the project’s money where it is built.

Local procurement is a CSR commitment as much as a sustainability one. Buying from local manufacturers and engaging local subcontractors keeps a project’s spending in the district, and the jobs it creates go to people who live there. Many of RKC’s own site staff joined the company on a project near their home.

  • Local hiring on every project
  • Local manufacturers and subcontractors
  • Skills that stay in the district after handover
