Tunnel Engineer — Drill & Blast
Lead a tunnelling shift on an eight-lane twin-tube road tunnel: drilling, blasting, mucking and primary support, safely and on cycle time.
[01] The role
What you will do
- Lead the excavation cycle at the face: drilling pattern, charging, blasting, mucking and scaling
- Install and check primary support (rock bolts, shotcrete, lattice girders) to the design class
- Work with geology and survey to keep each round on line and level
- Track cycle times, consumables and progress, and report to the tunnel manager
- Run tool-box talks and uphold underground safety, ventilation and gas monitoring
What you bring
- B.E. / B.Tech in Civil or Mining Engineering
- 5–8 years in tunnelling, with hands-on drill and blast experience
- Familiarity with NATM and rock mass classification
- Experience with drill jumbos and underground plant
- Ready for rotating shifts at site
