Madhya Pradesh approves 12 state roads under the hybrid annuity model
The state cabinet cleared 12 roads for HAM development and moved 22 more to the MP Road Development Corporation — including a six-lane Eastern Bhopal Bypass.
The Madhya Pradesh cabinet has approved the construction and upgrading of 12 important state roads under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), and transferred a further 22 roads to the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC).
The larger stretches
| Road | Length |
|---|---|
| Neemuch–Manasa–Rampura–Jhalawar (to four lanes with paved shoulders) | 95.85 km |
| Khalghat–Manawar–Mangod | 93.11 km |
| Sitamau–Basai–Suwasra (Mandsaur) | ~82 km |
| Eastern Bhopal Bypass (four to six lanes, with service roads) | 51.86 km |
| Bhopal–Vidisha | 44.83 km |
Other approved roads include stretches around Indore–Depalpur, Chapda–Deori towards Dewas, Dara–Datia–Sevda and Sarangpur.
Why HAM
Under the model, part of the construction cost is paid during the build and the balance as annuities over the concession period, with the developer responsible for maintenance throughout. State officials pointed to professional project management, timely execution and long-term upkeep as the reasons for choosing it — the same logic that has made HAM the workhorse of national highway procurement.
