[01] About the project
NH-66 runs the length of India's west coast, and in Kerala it carries heavy traffic through a continuous ribbon of towns. RKC is six-laning the stretch from Kadambattukonam to the start of the Kazhakoottam flyover, on the approach to Thiruvananthapuram.
The section runs from Design Ch. 517.250 to Design Ch. 547.080, about 29.8 km of New NH-66 (Old NH-47), and is executed for NHAI in EPC mode under Bharatmala Pariyojana.

Scope of work
- Widening to a six-lane divided highway with service roads
- Pavement, drainage and cross-drainage structures
- Structures at crossings, and junction and access arrangements
- Road furniture, markings and safety works
Building in a built-up corridor
The highway here passes through towns, homes and businesses, and heavy rainfall is part of every year. Work is sequenced around traffic and the monsoon, drainage is built early, and access to the properties along the road is kept open while the new lanes are laid.
A six-lane coastal corridor, built through one of Kerala's busiest stretches of road.
